OPEN WATER COURSE SCHEDULE 2023
GENERAL
OBP offers its open water scuba classes at no cost. OBP enrolls as many applicants as its funding permits.
OBP's open water classes are scheduled below. OBP will be scheduling additional open water scuba classes. Keep an eye on this page.
OBP requires a $200 refundable deposit in order to ensure that you show up for your reserved spot for your scheduled classes on the scheduled dates. The deposit will be refunded on completion of your reserved certification class. Kindly consider your schedule carefully when you apply/register.

Before the first day of Class and Pool 1, you will need,
- To fill out the Medical Questionnaire. You may need to get approval from your doctor before you can begin the class and your doctor may need to fill out the Medical Form. Read the Medical Form, and your answers closely, to determine if your doctor's approval and signature is required. - To complete the online course, including all of the home study, academics, quizzes and final exam. You will need to contact United Divers, Dive On It Scuba, Divers Market or Descent Divers, as applicable, to arrange for e-learning and other required learning materials. You will need to complete the e-learnng and other learning materials in advance of the first day of class. It is recommended that you go to United Divers, Divers Market or Descent Divers, as applicable, at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ELEARNING, OR WOULD LIKE ANY ADAPTIVE SUPPORT, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT OBP.
- To go into United Divers, Dive On It Scuba, Divers Market or Descent Divers, as applicable, to be fitted for and reserve personal gear (mask, snorkel, fins and boots which OBP purchases for you to own), and pool and open water checkout scuba gear (regulator, SPG, BC, wetsuit, hood, weights and compass) and tanks.
THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED BEFORE CHECKOUT DIVE WEEKEND
- Students will need to pick up their Open Water Checkout Dive gear at United Divers, Dive On It Scuba, Divers Market or Descent Divers, as applicable, in advance of their checkout dives. The process for this will be explained in greater detail during the classroom/pool sessions.
