ABOUT US

OBP became active in Boston in March of 2014. Since then, OBP has arranged for and financed the open water and advanced certification of 300+ local area Veterans, ran Try Scuba, Advanced/Specialty Classes and Refresher programs, arranged for a number of guided boat dives in Cape Ann, Gloucester, Massachusetts, and has purchased and maintains equipment, including dry suits, available to Veterans for use (at low or no cost to the Veteran), so that OBP Veterans are able to meet and continue to dive together once certified. OBP Programs and Our Community.

OBP arranges, and pays, for the cost of OBP's programming. Specifically,

• OBP pays for the costs of on-line training, pool skill sessions and weekends of open water shore dives in Cape Ann and Plymouth, Massachusetts, Cumberland and Fort Wetherill, Jamestown, Rhode Island.

• OBP pays for each Veteran's personal equipment  (mask, snorkel, booties, fins and gloves for Open Water Scuba Certification Classes), rental charges for other required gear and the classroom/on-line training, pool time and open water training costs.

• OBP maintains equipment, including dry suits, available to Veterans for use (at low or no cost to the Veteran).

• OBP schedules and finances shore and boat dives so that OBP Veterans are able to meet and continue to dive together once certified.

• Open Water Scuba and Advanced/Specialty Certifications in a 3 weekend (open water) or 1-2 week program (advanced/specialty) program in the Greater Boston area and Rhode Island.​​
