This year OBP has currently scheduled 6 open water certification classes through August and may schedule additional classes as the summer progresses. Keep an eye out on this page as classes are posted as they are scheduled. 2023 Open Water Course Schedule
These classes fill up fast so please check the schedule before you register. OBP open water certified 30+ Veterans last summer. Many Veterans signed up for the waitlist and would have been able to participate if a number of Veterans had not registered and cancelled due to a foreseeable scheduling conflict. When this happens, you are taking a spot from another Veteran. |
The open water certification courses are taught by United Divers, Somerville, MA, Dive on It SCUBA, Cumberland, RI, Divers Market, Plymouth, MA and Descent Divers, Leominster, MA. Each course is a 2-4 week program in the Greater Boston area or Rhode Island, including online/classroom training, pool skill sessions and also a weekend of open water dives in Cape Ann, Gloucester, MA, Hathaway's Pond, Hyannis, MA, Fort Wetherill, Jamestown, Newport, RI or the Plymouth Beach, Plymouth, MA. ADVANCED/SPECIALTY CERTIFICATIONS
OBP'S 2022 ADVANCED/SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION CLASSESLast spring/summer OBP arranged and financed 2 advanced open water certification classes, 2 drysuit classes, 1 rescue class, 1 equipment specialist class, 1 nitrox class, 1 refresher class, 1 divemaster class. and 1 Diveheart adaptive diver instructor and buddy class. The advanced/specialty classes will be posted on this page as they are scheduled.

EQUIPMENT RENTAL
OBP also maintains equipment available to Veterans for use (at low or no cost to the Veteran) and schedules and finances shore and boat dives so that OBP Veterans are able to meet and continue to dive together once certified.
