SEPTEMBER 2023 OPEN WATER CLASS
OBP offers its open water scuba classes at no cost. OBP enrolls as many applicants as its funding permits.
OBP requires a $200 refundable deposit in order to ensure that you show up for your reserved spot for your scheduled classes on the scheduled dates. The deposit will be refunded on completion of your reserved certification class. Kindly consider your schedule carefully when you apply/register.

PREREQUISITES, WHAT YOU WILL LEARN AND WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO CLASS
THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED BEFORE CLASS AND POOL 1
Before the first day of Class and Pool 1, you will need,
CLASS 1 and 2
Class sessions are held at Dive on it Scuba, 1000 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI.
Please bring your PADI online completion form. Dive on it Scuba will request your completed PADI Medical Form prior to class.
Class 1 includes fitting for your personal gear (mask, snorkel, hood, fins, boots and gloves). OBP purchases this equipment for you to own.
POOL 1 and POOL 2
Pool 1 and Pool 2 is at the Cumberland High School Pool, 2600 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI 02864.
You will need to bring your personal gear, bathing suit and towel to the pool.
You will also need to pick up the other gear (tanks, regulators, buoyancy compensators, weight belts and exposure suits) at Dive On it Scuba and bring it to the pool for you to use (at OBP's cost).
OPEN WATER DIVES
The Open Water Dives will include the 4 ocean dives required for the PADI open water certification.
You will need to go into Dive on it Scuba in advance of your Open Water Dives to be fitted for, and reserve, the scuba gear that you will need. This includes all scuba gear (regulator, SPG, BC, wetsuit, hood, weights and compass) and 2 tanks per day. YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO GO INTO DIVE ON IT SCUBA ON THE THURSDAY OR FRIDAY BEFORE YOUR OPEN WATER DIVE WEEKEND TO PICK UP YOUR GEAR.
You will also need to bring your personal gear, bathing suit and towel.

THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED BEFORE CLASS AND POOL 1

- To fill out the Medical Statement. You may need to get approval from your doctor before you can begin the class and your doctor may need to fill out the Medical Statement. Read the Medical Statement, and your answers closely, to determine if your doctor's approval and signature is required. - To complete the online course, including all of the home study, academics, quizzes and final exam. You will need to contact Dive On It SCUBA to arrange for e-learning and other required learning materials. You will need to complete the e-learning and other learning materials in advance of the first day of class. It is recommended that you go to Dive on It SCUBA at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ELEARNING, OR WOULD LIKE ANY ADAPTIVE SUPPORT, PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CONTACT OBP.
