OPERATION BLUE PRIDE'S PROGRAMMING
Operation Blue Pride arranges, and pays, for the cost of Operation Blue Pride's Programming
Operation Blue Pride's programming requirements are established by application of PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors), SSI (Scuba Schools International), SDI (Scuba Diving International), Diveheart, HSA (Handicapped Scuba Association) and Operation Blue Pride standards, procedures and policies.
Operation Blue Pride pays for the costs of online training, pool skill sessions and weekends of open water shore dives in Cape Ann and Hathaways Pond and Plymouth, Massachusetts, Cumberland and Fort Wetherill, Jamestown, Rhode Island and Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Operation Blue Pride pays for each Veteran's personal equipment (mask, snorkel, booties, fins, hood and gloves for Open Water Scuba Certification Classes), rental charges for other required gear and the classroom/on-line training, pool time and open water training costs.
Operation Blue Pride maintains equipment, including dry suits, available to Veterans for use (at low or no cost to the Veteran).
Operation Blue Pride schedules and finances shore and boat dives so that OBP Veterans are able to meet and continue to dive together once certified.
OPERATION BLUE PRIDE SCUBA CLASSES AND OTHER PROGRAMMING FILL UP FAST SO PLEASE CHECK THE SCHEDULE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER. ALSO, PLEASE REVIEW THE REQUIRED MEDICAL STATEMENT CAREFULLY BECAUSE, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MEDICAL STATEMENT (AND, CONSEQUENTLY, OBP, ITS DIVE SHOPS AND DIVE PROFESSIONALS) REQUIRE THAT THE MEDICAL STATEMENT BE SIGNED BY YOUR DOCTOR. YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A FULLY COMPLETED AND SIGNED MEDICAL STATEMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN ANY CLASS OR OTHER PROGRAMMING OFFERED BY OPERATION BLUE PRIDE. OPERATION BLUE PRIDE & DIVEHEART TRAINING
Operation Blue Pride offers Diveheart Adaptive Buddy, Advanced Buddy and Adaptive Scuba Instructor Training.
Operation Blue Pride works with certified scuba divers and Adaptive Divers (individuals with a disability) to create Adaptive Dive Teams that allow everyone to experience zero gravity underwater.
An Adaptive Dive Team consists of the Adaptive Diver, and two Adaptive Dive Buddies. For certified scuba divers, taking a Buddy Course is the first step to becoming part of an Adaptive Dive Team. Operation Blue Pride/Diveheart has several Adaptive Dive Buddy certifications, each building on the other in terms of the experience and responsibility needed by the buddy candidate. See www.diveheart.org/diveheart-courses/#buddy-courses.org for more information about Diveheart.
Operation Blue Pride offers Diveheart Training. In order to sign up for the class, e-learning, instruction materials and other materials and information, please sign up on the link New Diver Registration/Waitlist and feel free to contact OBP at [email protected]. Please be sure to include information regarding your certifications, logged dives and number of dives working with adaptive divers. OBP's and Diveheart's goal is to gear your training to your experience.
