LEARN ABOUT OPERATION BLUE PRIDE

OPERATION BLUE PRIDE'S PROGRAMMING

Operation Blue Pride arranges, and pays, for the cost of Operation Blue Pride's Programming, to the extent of available funding.

Operation Blue Pride's programming requirements are established by application of PADI (Professional Association of Dive Instructors), SSI (Scuba Schools International), SDI (Scuba Diving International), Diveheart, HSA (Handicapped Scuba Association) and Operation Blue Pride standards, procedures and policies.

Operation Blue Pride maintains equipment, including dry suits, available to Veterans for use (at low or no cost to the Veteran).

Operation Blue Pride schedules and finances shore and boat dives so that OBP Veterans are able to meet and continue to dive together.
OPERATION BLUE PRIDE'S PROGRAMMING FILLS UP FAST SO PLEASE CHECK THE SCHEDULE CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER. ALSO, PLEASE REVIEW THE REQUIRED MEDICAL STATEMENT CAREFULLY BECAUSE, UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MEDICAL STATEMENT (AND, CONSEQUENTLY, OBP, ITS DIVE SHOPS AND DIVE PROFESSIONALS) REQUIRE THAT THE MEDICAL STATEMENT BE SIGNED BY YOUR DOCTOR.  YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE A FULLY COMPLETED AND SIGNED MEDICAL STATEMENT BEFORE YOU BEGIN ANY PROGRAMMING OFFERED BY OPERATION BLUE PRIDE.  CLICK ON THIS LINK FOR THE FORM OF THE MEDICAL STATEMENT. 2023_diver_medical_form.pdf

OPERATION BLUE PRIDE'S EQUIPMENT PROGRAM

Operation Blue Pride has 6-21 sets of gear (depending on location), 6 Dry Suits, 20 7mm wetsuits and weights which will be available for use by OBP Veterans on a first come first served basis at United Divers (Somerville, MA), Portsmouth SCUBA (Portsmouth, NH) and Giant Stride Dive Shop (Warwick, RI). The OBP Equipment Program allows you to use a Buoyancy Compensator (BC), Regulator, Submersible Pressure Gauge (SPG), Dive Computer and Compass and a full set (2) of Aluminum/Steel Tanks. The Veteran will be required to pay for its tank fills.

The OBP Veteran will need to reserve gear in advance and, when the Veteran picks up the gear, he/she will need to provide an ID and credit card to keep on file to ensure returns are made promptly.
